NABA NY Golf & Executive Networking Event

Please join us for a wonderful day of golf and networking! This event is for both Golfers and Non-Golfers. The price includes Lunch, Awards Reception, Golf or the Golf Clinic, and also games AND prizes for Closest to the LineClosest to the Pin and the Most Improved Clinic Participant.

Itinerary:
11:00am – Registration & Lunch
1:00pm – 18 Holes of Golf or 3 Hour Golf Clinic
5:00pm – Cocktail Reception & Awards

For Golfers:
We will begin sending groups out on the course at 1pm. This is not a shotgun start. Format is a Scramble to maintain pace of play – 18 holes. All cart and greens fees included, as well as range balls prior to the round.

For Clinic Participants:
Clinic will begin at 1pm and include 1 hour of Full Swing, 1 hour of Short Game and 1 hour of Putting. You may bring your own clubs if you have them, otherwise clubs will be provided for the clinic. Golf shoes are not required, comfortable tennis shoes will do. No denim, tee shirts or tank tops. Polo style or turtle neck tops are acceptable.

 The Goldman Sachs Firmwide Black Network is pleased to invite you to attend a panel with three founders of majority black-owned asset management firms – Silas Myers, co-founder of Mar Vista Investment Partners, Troy Dixon, founder of Hollis Park Partners and Tammy Jones, co-founder of Basis Investment Group. They will discuss their experiences as investors and how they started and have led successful firms that oversee public equity, hedge fund and commercial real estate assets for both institutional and individual investors. 

The conversation will be moderated by Troy Thornton, managing director and co-head of Retail Sales within the Goldman Sachs Asset Management Americas Client Business. The panel will be followed by a networking reception with Goldman Sachs professionals from across the firm.

NABA Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program

CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS… we are again requesting your time and talent for our NABA VITA sites in Corona, Queens; and Amityville, Long Island for the upcoming 2019 Tax Season.

  • In order to serve, volunteers MUST COMPLETE IRS online training, including VOLUNTEER STANDARDS, CONDUCT & ETHICS and the accompanying tests.

  • Log on to www.LINKLEARNCERTIFICATION.COM for full details. Testing Portal and full study materials are available. Volunteers are encouraged to be certified beyond the Basic Level. 2 attempts are allowed at certification. Passing score is 80%. Email completed Exams Certificates to vita@nabany.org.

  • Volunteers will prepare basic Federal and State returns for low-income taxpayers, the elderly, and persons with disabilities.

Additional Volunteer “classroom” Training will be offered. Please reach out to the Tax Committee at vita@nabany.org for more details.
