Call for Volunteers

Assistant Secretary- The role would assist the secretary role with the current responsibilities and provide exposure to the role of the NABA NY Chapter secretary for possible succession planning.  If you are interested in hearing more details, please email secretary@nabany.org.

High School Program with the NY Urban Network - In prior years, we have worked with other professional organizations to host a program for high school students.  The program would provide workshops on topics such as making the right choice of major, financial aid, internships and financial education.  NABA NY has assisted with the planning of this program and execution of certain workshops.  If you would like to work with this program, please email secretary@nabany.org.

Website / Public Relations Committee
This committee is responsible for these weekly emails, the real time / informative website and prior professional newsletters distributed by NABA NY.  To find out more information / join the team, please email: website@nabany.org.
 
Professional Development "PD" Committee 
This committee plans and coordinates interesting and informative programs for the chapter's monthly professional development meetings.  Current year events are noted above and can be found at the professional development page at the NABA NY website (www.nabany.org).  We are currently looking for volunteers to join the committee. Please email development@nabany.org if you are interested in joining to 'PD TEAM'.

Employment Opportunities Committee 
This committee facilitates the process of providing job opportunities to our membership, through job postings from our Institutional Partners and other employers. As part of this process, the committee (confidentially) reviews resumes and offers suggestions for enhancement.  Our ultimate goal is to assist our members in reaching their career goals and to assist corporations in recruiting quality accounting and finance professionals.

Financial Literacy Program
This committee members volunteer to lead seminar teams at various junior high schools, high schools and civic organization throughout New York City.  NABA NY provides training and & materials for the presentations.  For information on how to volunteer, share ideas or places to volunteer, please email the committee: financialliteracy@nabany.org.

Membership Committee 
This committee assists with the recruitment of new members, encourages member participation in chapter activities and organizes the membership appreciation event and the annual holiday event.  If you would like to help grow the NABA NY membership or assist in the planning of the appreciation events, please send an email to at membership@nabany.org.

Newsletter Committee
The Newsletter Committee seeks volunteers to assist with the compilation and production of the chapter newsletter. Volunteers are needed:  interviewers, reviewers, researchers, and any others willing to assist the chapter with this effort.  Please email us at: Newsletter@nabany.org to express your interest in volunteering. Questions and/or suggestions are welcomed as well.  We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Community affairs 
Committee member responsibilities include working with committee leaders to plan and execute monthly NABA NY community affairs events, help to increase attendance and membership participation by professionals and students at community affairs events. Student Member Services Committee (SMS)
Overview: 
-         SMS coordinates activities between the student and professional chapter. 
-         Encourages and assists students entering the accounting profession.
-         Recruits students to join the professional chapter upon graduation.
-         Responsible for developing a career awareness program for high school students. 
-         Coordinates annual scholarship selection process.

The Student Development committee is seeking professionals to assist in the planning and facilitation of our student development programs and monthly meetings.  Coordinate events such as the CAMA workshops, Meet the Firms and the NABA NY Case Study Competition.  For more information, email studentdevelopment@nabany.org.
 
NABA NY SMS Mentorship Program
Develop a meaningful relationship with a NABA student by joining the NABA NY SMS Mentorship Program!  In the program, you will share your knowledge and experiences.  For more information, please email mentorship@nabany.org.
 
NABA NY SMS JobBank Program
The program is designed to assist students in gaining an understanding of the business world.  Professional volunteers may serve to review the resumes of the students in the program and other capacities. Email jobbank@nabany.org for more information.
 
NABA NY SMS Chapter Development Committee (Chapter Liaisons)
Are you a former chapter officer or member of one of our NABA NY student chapters? NABA NY SMS SCREP Committee
The SCREP Committee is seeking professionals to review quarterly Student Chapter Reporting & Evaluation (SCREP) packets and serve as SCREP experts for the student chapters.  Email SCREP@nabany.org for details.
