The New York City Department of Investigation (DOI) is one of the oldest law enforcement agencies in the country with a mission of combating municipal corruption. It serves the people of New York City by acting as an independent and nonpartisan watchdog for New York City government, City agencies, and City employees, vendors with City contracts, individuals and entities that receive City funds. The Deputy Director of Finance will assist the Director of Finance with management of agency planning, expense and revenue functions within the Finance Division.
The Deputy Director of Finance must be experienced with the NYC government fiscal process and all applicable rules. The selected candidate will be responsible for daily activities related to PS and OTPS analysis, accounts receivable and payable, budgetary modifications and creating journal entries. Responsibilities include but are not limited to reconciliations, projections, review of invoices, and contract payments. Manage budget and fiscal processes and provide financial reports that forecast trends and impacts for the agency. The Deputy Director of Finance will oversee, maintain and process payments from agency held bank accounts, and monitor the fiscal health of the agency's budget. Represent the agency on appropriate fiscal matters involving the Comptroller’s office and other oversight agencies.
