President: Kimberly Parris, MBA

Kimberly Parris is the President and Founder of Parris Associates, Inc., an independent consulting firm specializing in financial, management and human resources consulting. The company was formed in 1998 and provides practical, effective solutions incorporating “best practices” industry data to clients. Parris Associates, Inc. has benefited non-profits and Fortune 500 companies in the areas of strategic planning, leadership development, performance management, diversity programs and team building, process reengineering, financial management, project management and systems implementations. Selected clients include: Prudential Financial, McGraw Hill Financial, and Goldman Sachs.

As a principal in Parris Associates, Ms. Parris brings more than 20 years of diverse financial services experience. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Accounting from Howard University and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Pace University.

Prior to forming Parris Associates, Ms. Parris was a senior executive in Human Resources at JPMorgan Chase in New York. During her 16 year career at Chase, Ms. Parris traveled the globe and worked in a variety of leadership positions from audit to operations management to learning & development and talent acquisition. Her ability to lead high performance teams, champion change in merger environments and create partnerships across the company garnered her the YMCA of Greater New York – Black Achievers in Industry Award.

Ms. Parris is also an active leader in her community and was awarded the prestigious President’s Volunteer Service Award, by President Barack Obama. The National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc., Epsilon Alpha Chapter also recognized Ms. Parris for her dedication and work with youth programs. She has served on various boards and is currently serving as the President of the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA), Inc., New York Chapter and is the recipient of the NABA NY Professional Member of the year award. A NABA Lifetime Member, Ms. Parris is focused on growing corporate partnerships and enhancing and communicating NABA’s value proposition. Her other passion is teaching the art of public speaking to 7 and 8 year olds with the New Jersey Orators. Ms. Parris is married with two adult children and resides in New Jersey.


1st Vice President: Taisha M. Walker, CPA

Taisha M. Walker, CPA, obtained her BBA and MSA from Stonehill College in Ma.  Upon graduation, Taisha Walker started her career by joining PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) where she is currently a Senior Manager within the Audit and Assurance Practice.  She has been in the insurance industry for ten years, serving her client base, which includes multi-national, SEC-registered insurance companies as well as non-SEC registered insurance companies.  Taisha’s experience spans across property and casualty, life insurance, and reinsurance companies as well as employee benefit plans.  She is currently a New York State licensed Certified Public Accountant and holds a professional membership with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Taisha has been an active professional member of the New York Chapter of NABA since 2008.  She has served as the 2nd Vice President for two years, Treasurer for three years, currently serves on the Scholarship & Awards Gala Committee, and presents at numerous NABA events throughout the year such as Student Officer Trainings. 

As her passions include diversity recruitment and community service, she is a Chair of the Insurance Practice Diversity Committee, Chair of PwC’s Black Inclusion Network, coach for diverse interns in PwC's START Program and gives back to her community by teaching financial literacy as part of PwC’s Earn Your Future Program, in New York and as far as Belize.  Taisha was also selected for the Financial Women’s Association’s Pacesetters Leadership Program. 


2nd Vice President: Karen Fisher, MBA, CPA

Karen Fisher is a Certified Public Accountant, and holds an MBA from Adelphi University, a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Rutgers University and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountant. She began her career in audit at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP where she worked with multinational clients in various industries.

At Prudential Financial, Karen recently held the position of Vice President Finance responsible financial reporting, controllership, planning and analysis, capital management and governance for International Investments (a business within the Asset Management segment).  Prior to Prudential, Karen worked with the international businesses of McGraw-Hill Education (formerly a division of The McGraw-Hill Companies) leading the budgeting, reporting, and analysis processes and partnering with the management in their on-going effort to streamline finance and business processes.  

Karen’s ongoing dedication to community service was recognized by President Obama with the prestigious President’s Volunteer Service Award.  She has a personal mission to promote financial education within the community and her unwavering commitment to this cause is noted in her partnership with W!SE and Operation HOPE, both financial education non- profit organizations.  In addition she currently leads the financial education committee of NABA New York chapter and has overseen this team since 2014.  The committee focuses on empowering children and adults with the knowledge to make sound financial decisions thus impacting the way they view, feel, think and spend money. Karen has supported NABA in numerous capacities at the local and regional levels.


Treasurer: Burgandy McCurty, CPA

Burgandy McCurty, CPA, obtained her BS and MS in Accounting from Siena College. Upon graduation, Burgandy started her career by joining PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) in the New York office. She worked in the Assurance practice in the Financial Services-Asset Management sector for four and a half years. She currently works in the Forensic Services Advisory practice for PwC. She is a New York State licensed Certified Public Accountant and holds professional memberships with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Burgandy has been an active professional member of the New York Chapter of NABA since 2011. She has previously served as a member of the Gala Scholarship Committee, a member of the secretary team, Assistant Treasurer, and Treasurer. She looks forward to continuing her service to the members of NABA NY as the Treasurer in the coming fiscal year.



Secretary: Marlynka Dorimain, CFE

Marlynka Dorimain, CFE obtained her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from SUNY – College at Old Westbury. She started her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) and is currently a Manager at Grant Thornton LLP in its Business Risk Services practice in New York where she conducts internal audits, regulatory reporting and compliance reviews, operational reviews, and accounting policies reviews.

Marlynka has been a member of the NABA New York Chapter since 2007. She was the Assistant Secretary in FY 2015, served as Secretary in FY 2016, 2017 and has been a member of the NABA Eastern Region Student Conference Interview Committee since FY 2014.

In addition to her membership with NABA, Marlynka holds professional memberships with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and ISACA formerly known as the "Information Systems Audit and Control Association".
